Despite only being sixteen years old, COLEMSTR is already making waves with his talent. He comes from a small town and is hoping to get his name out there, and start lining up some big venues to play at. His track “Fun ‘N Guns” is the second highest rated track here on dubstepbeats. He’s going to make it big, and he’s dedicated to doing so. Read on to find out who he is, and share some love by spreading the word.

1. How did you get started with Dubstep?

Well, back in 7th grade I was opening my mind to all sorts of different
music. One day I was hanging with my life-long, wacky friend and he had
a mixture of different techno/house music on a playlist. Up popped a
random dubstep song. It was the High Rankin Special music mixtape. For
the next half hour of my life, I entered the world of dubstep and knew
that I wasn’t leaving anytime soon. From that day on I searched almost
every hour of every day for new artists and heavy bass dropping tracks.
This eventually led to the discovery of my first and only music
producing program, FL Studio. I was hooked immediately and began pumping
out tracks as soon as I learned the basics. For the last 3 and a half
years I’ve improved my productions dramatically and couldn’t be more
satisfied with where all of this is going.

2. Why do you think Dubstep has gotten so popular all of a sudden?

Personally, I would’ve been more surprised if dubstep hadn’t gotten
this popular this fast. A new generation of people who enjoy a more
futuristic class of music is growing rapidly and has been for years now.
The genre has infinitely growing potential with new artists and a
next-generation taste of style. I couldn’t be happier about the outcome.
As long as the younger crowd continues to listen as they are, dubstep
will undoubtedly surpass even the most popular of music.

3. What’s your favorite track of all time?

My favorite track of all time would definitely have to be Washout by
Stereoheroes. It’s not exactly dubstep, but Stereoheroes is the
inspiration that got me hooked on all sorts of electronic music.

4. Do you feel that you already have a certain style of Dubstep?

I’m glad you asked that. In my younger days heavy drums and extremely
sick guitars were the cats pajamas. I try my best to incorporate a
little of both worlds by mixing the creative melodies of dubstep with a
solid drum line that’s similar to heavy metal. Most of this style is
shown in one of my tracks, Theatrical Terror.

5. How do you feel about the direction Dubstep is heading?

Considering I’ve only been listening to dubstep for about 4 years now,
I’m not entirely sure. Some artists take the spotlight more than others,
but no one’s to say who’s best. Almost everyone who produces dubstep has
their own unique style. I think that’s the absolute greatest trait to
the genre.

6. You gotta tell us, what do you think of Skrillex and his success?

It’s really awesome to think that a few years ago you never would’ve
believed hearing dubstep on commercials or movie trailers. Skrillex has
done a great service to all dubstep lovers in such a short time, it’s
really quite amazing.

7. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I wouldn’t want anything more than to see myself performing live with
my family and friends raging backstage. This is my dream job and an
accomplishment like that would complete my life.

8. What’s your favorite track right now?

The other night I was on Soundowl.com just surfing through music and I
stumbled across the song Visionary by Rameses B. It did more than please
my ear drums. I definitely suggest listening to it ’cause this track has
been stuck in my head for days.

9. What’s your dream venue to play at?

I truthfully don’t have much knowledge of the coolest dubstep venues.
I’m 16 years-old, so hopefully in a few years the sick venues will come
to me. Atlantic City has some dope pictures of Bassnectar though.

10. What are you working on now and when can we expect to hear it?

I just finished a decently slow-paced, hard hitting track. If you’ve
seen the movie Due Date, I’m sure this production will tickle your
fancy. There might be something else up my sleeve too. But anyway,
hopefully you’ll be listening to my latest song as soon as you finish
reading this sentence!

This time around we got in contact with Red Mob, who’s been crushing it pretty hard in the dubstep scene with his first EP. You might remember his Circus Weaponry EP Mix that we published – which was collaborated with HKFiftyOne. His debut EP peaked at #11 on the top 100 releases, and stayed on the charts for 3 weeks. Red Mob is an EDM producer from Charlotte, North Carolina who got started in dubstep back in April of 2011. Some of his influences stem from artists like Rusko, Skream, Liquid Stranger, Cookie Monsta, Flux Pavillion, Capsa, and Trolley Snatcha. We appreciate that he took the time to answer our questions and his responses are below.

Exclusive Interview with Red Mob

1. How did you get started with Dubstep?

Some friends of mine showed me a few tracks by Joker, Skream, Benga and Mala a few years back, and I was immediately hooked. I was really into the deep vibes and of course the heavy bass lines, it was really unique to me. I started making dubstep around April of 2011 and haven’t stopped since.

2. Why do you think Dubstep has gotten so popular all of a sudden?

I think dubstep has gotten so popular recently because of the fact that it’s just so different, the general public has never really heard anything like it. Most people are used to listening to guitars, drums and other instruments, but in dubstep there are a variety of different synths and effects that make it such a diverse and unique genre, and people like that.

3. What’s your favourite track of all time?

It’s very hard to have just one favorite, but I would have to say Jahova by Rusko. It’s just so immense, it has this vibe to it that is so chill yet incredibly hard.

4. Do you feel that you already have a certain style of Dubstep?

I don’t think I’ve fully developed my own certain style, but I do have a general idea of what I’m going for. I prefer to have something that has some sort of melody, but not necessarily be mellow. I try to make something that hits hard, but is not necessarily straight filth patterns. I want to make tunes that are easily recognizable and stand out from the rest, and as cliche as it sounds, I want to make music that represents myself.

5. How do you feel about the direction Dubstep is heading?

I’m pretty excited about the direction dubstep and EDM music in general is headed. Artists now have an opportunity to reach a much wider audience than ever before. There is also a ton of different styles being developed that gives listeners a great variety to pick and choose from. Even though dubstep isn’t what it was 5 years ago when Fabriclive 37 came out (my favorite album of all time might I add), it’s still great nonetheless. It’s called evolution, and it will happen whether we like it or not haha.

6. You gotta tell us, what do you think of Skrillex and his success?

There’s no doubt Skrillex has exploded in the past couple years. I think he completely deserves it, he puts forth a lot of effort to give his fans quality music and great shows, not to mention he’s playing 300+ shows within 12 months. I remember hearing Skrillex/Sonny Moore (whatever name he was using for his music at the time haha) for the first time over 2 years ago, and I had no idea he would be as big as he is now, but it’s awesome that he did.

7. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Partying at Ultra, whether it be in the crowd or on the stage!

8. What’s your favorite track right now?

I’m practically addicted to every Brown and Gammon tune at the moment, and I love what Roksonix, Eptic and Point.Blank are doing.

9. What’s your dream venue to play at?

Any venue that has a bunch of fans actually dancing to my set!

10. What are you working on now and when can we expect to hear it?

I’m working on a couple projects right now, possibly a new EP, no set dates yet. I’m really digging the progressive house/electro scene so be on the lookout for that!

Dubstep Beats had the pleasure of interviewing Koringer, a French Dubstep Producer from Paris. Our questions and his responses are below for your enjoyment. Korstep, which is Koringer’s latest work was published and highly reviewed here; and is open to remixes for his coming EP.

Koringer also wanted to throw a special shout-out and thanks to his friend Drew!

Koringer Interview

1. How did you get started with Dubstep?

It was in september 2011, at a birthday party. I heard a strange sound coming from the house, and I called my friend Nina to ask her what it was. She told me “It’s Skrillex! You don’t know him????” And I didn’t. I was really high and just got enough strength to pick up my phone and wrote “skrillex” on it (the song was First of the Year). I spent the next day listening to him and discovering new artists. So yes, it comes from Sonny.

2. Why do you think Dubstep has gotten so popular all of a sudden?

I think it’s just what people want, we just put a name on it. I’ve been looking for this kind of music all my life. Whatever your kind of music is, there’s always something you’re gonna like in dubstep. For example, I usually listen to hip-hop and blues (not anymore… well, not as much as before).

3. What’s your favourite track of all time?

It’s All along the Watchtower from Jimi Hendrix since I’ve seen the final of Battlestar Galactica, even if I already knew the track. If it has to be a dubstep track, I’d say Fire Hive from Knife Party.

4. Do you feel that you already have a certain style of Dubstep?

You tell me

5. How do you feel about the direction Dubstep is heading?

It’s mainstream now. I think it’s gonna hit the French radios soon (I’m from Paris), and one day, maybe, we will get rid of this annoying commercial house music…

6. You gotta tell us, what do you think of Skrillex and his success?

That’s a question. I started listening to dubstep (or brostep or whatever you call it) thanks to Skrillex, I can’t deny it. I think people are usually jealous from a fast success like his, but he’s got talent and if he can make our music more famous, let him do it.

7. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Deaf on my own island ^^ it would be cool (except for the deaf part)

8. What’s your favorite track right now?

I’m listening to the SSX soundtrack, really amazing. I also listen to The Noisy Freaks a lot, and Duhbsy. I’ve also really liked the new track coming from Mau5Hax called Titty Sprinkles (available for free on Beatport). I like Ikki too. Listen to my favorites on my Soundcloud account!

The Noisy Freaks: http://soundcloud.com/then-1

9. What’s your dream venue to play at?

A big home party like in “Project X” with a giant pool, and enough bass to destroy a city with the sound!

10. What are you working on now and when can we expect to hear it?

I got a few new tracks I’m working on… Available soon on DubstepBeats I hope! I’ll try to release an EP too, I’m currently looking for a label.

Hello dubsteppers, this is an old favorite from back in 2011 by dubstep artist Skrillex. The track features the popular mainstream song “Cinema” by artist Benny Benassi. If you haven’t heard it yet, give it a listen and wait for the droppp!

MrAmazinggggggg has been working hard and this is his latest creation “Trebuchet.” The team here at DubstepBeats hopes everyone had a great weekend, whether it was spent at a live show and you’re still recovering; or if you just did the relaxation thing and lounged it up. We do receive a lot of inquiries about songs being published here, and artists hoping to get their music showcased on the site. We cannot promise anything will go live but if you wish to submit something whether its your own work, or your favorite beat – please send your inquiries to contact@dubstepbeats.org

This track is off of Skrillex’s latest dubstep EP titled “Bangarang,” featuring Sirah. Accompanied by the official music video which ignites a little debate until the ending. But I won’t spoil the somewhat redeeming ending of it if you haven’t seen it quite yet. Bangarang is available for download on Skrillex’s official YouTube page, and other tracks can also be played and previewed on his official channel. If anybody has seen Skrillex perform live, he sure puts on a great show; and has equally as impressive of a following across the states and beyond.

After we published D33Tr0i’s remastered and extended “lights” remix by System. we just had to look deeper to find some more of VEELA’s amazing vocals combined with dubstep. “Hallow” by X-sentinel brings us a dubstep beat paired amazingly with the spine tingling vocals by the beautiful and talented Veela. The only downside to this track is that it should be much longer! Stay tuned, as you’ll be seeing and hearing more of her from us in the near future.
